Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus) Photographed on North Seymour Island, the Galapagos on March 6, 2006. Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus) on Brown Pelican The one on the left was perched on the head of a Brown Pelican. The Brown Noddy on the right had just taken off from the back of the pelican. This photo was made at Puerto Ayora Harbor, Santa Cruz Island, the Galapagos on March 9, 2006. Although brown noddies on brown pelicans seemed to be a common sight, I've never seen a satisfactory explanation for this puzzling behavior.
