Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus)  Photographed on North Seymour Island, the Galapagos on March 6, 2006. Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus) on Brown Pelican  The one on the left was perched on the head of a Brown Pelican.  The Brown Noddy on the right had just taken off from the back of the pelican.  This photo was made at Puerto Ayora Harbor, Santa Cruz Island, the Galapagos on March 9, 2006.  Although brown noddies on brown pelicans seemed to be a common sight, I've never seen a satisfactory explanation for this puzzling behavior. Caspian Terns	(Hydroprogne caspia)  These  Caspian Terns ,  Hydroprogne caspia , (the 4 birds with large orange bills) were photographed at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in western New York State on Aug 23, 2008.  They were in various stages of molting from breeding into non-breeding plumage.  There are also ring-billed gulls in the photo.  Digiscoping photo. In this side by side comparison, the most obvious difference is in the bill color.  Also, the Forster's Tern looks a bit smaller and seems to have a paler mantle.
